O'Neill Coldwater Classic - 6* ASP WQS

Surfed in my first WQS on Tuesday.  Really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from it.  Was great to have my friends on the beach waving the saltires and trying my hand against some of the best surfers in the world.  Was also great fun to stand on the reef and cheer on my other Scottish pals surfing in the event: Georgie, Chris and Scratch.  Many thanks to O'Neill for giving the SSF the wildcard and paying our SCO representatives entry into the event.

I was pretty nervous before my heat, but since it was the first heat of the morning at 7:30am we had a couple minutes to get one or two.  I got a beauty just before the heat started which gave me a wee bit of confidence.  Unfortunately I didnt find anything of similar quality during my heat but after the experience I feel that I want to get as much practice in as I can and give it another go next time around.  Congratulations to Chris who absolutely kicked airse, getting two tubes in his heat and thrashing the Brazo pro.

Chris' next heat (no.18) should be on in a couple hours time.  Watch it live on the net:
